Biish (Water) Falls, located in the center of the Waterpark, is fun for everyone. Even Mom and Dad will laugh when they are splashed by a giant bucket that dumps 317 gallons of water every time it tips. Here’s a secret, if you want to know when the bucket is ready to tip, listen for our giant animatronic eagle mother to call to her baby. When you hear that, take a deep breath!

Biish (Water) Falls also features four slides for guests under 52 inches tall, including:

  • Cattails that spray water
  • Slide that can accommodate a parent and young child riding together. Share the fun!
  • Two side-by-side tube slides
  • Canoe-shaped slide
  • Colorful characters like fish, beavers, and turtles. How many animals can you find?

** Please note that height requirements are established by the manufacturer of the slides. For the safety of all guests, Soaring Eagle Waterpark observes all manufacturer recommendations and guidelines.

Otter’s Run isn’t our biggest slide, but it is our fastest! No tubes, just you, the water and a precarious drop into the unknown!

The Otter is an important symbol of Tribal Culture, and it represents a Clan of the Tribe. Traits of the Otter (Nigig) are playful, energetic and commitment.

Guests must be at least 48 inches tall. Per the manufacturer’s requirements, the Otter’s Run water slide may have other height and weight restrictions that apply.

The Waterpark and Hotel’s Matriarch, Nokomis (Grandmother), is our resident storyteller. Each night, Nokomis will share traditional stories of her youth in the Tribe that have been passed down through oral traditions that are still observed to this day. Yes, these stories are authentic and come from the elders of the Saginaw Chippewa Indian tribe and are voiced by a Tribal Elder. Nokomis is attired in a dance dress, called a Jingle Dress that was created specifically for her by elders of the tribe, her hair and hands are modeled from a Tribal Elder and she holds an authentic dance stick. As you spend time with Nokomis you will see that every stitch and every item were sewn and created by members of the tribe in accord with Tribal tradition. Fun fact: A new dress for Nokomis is currently being created, however, tradition dictates that only one jingle per day may be added to a dress. Keeping with tradition, it takes some time to create a new outfit. (By the way, dresses such as this and the brightly colored clothing worn by traditional Tribal dancers, such as seen in photos in the hotel pool, are known as regalia.)

You’ll be amazed watching the kids try to figure out if she’s real and they will come away with an introduction to Native Culture. All of us who work at the park consider Nokomis a part of the family and will wish her good morning or say hello as we walk past.

The legend of Soaring Eagle Properties began in a small gymnasium at the corner of Leaton Road and Broadway, about two miles from the waterpark. That gym is still used for Tribal events and community functions. Today the casino features more than 210,000 square feet of gaming space, with more than 4,000 slot machines, 500 hotel rooms, table games, world-class entertainment and fine dining.

Soaring Eagle Casino and Resort employs more that 3,000 Tribal Members and area residents and annually contributes a percentage of all gaming revenues back to the Mount Pleasant and Standish areas. So far, this voluntary contribution totals nearly half of a billion dollars that has been used to build roads, support schools, provide energy and improve the lives of countless neighbors and community members.

Soaring Eagle Casino and Resort is located roughly 1.5 miles from the waterpark and complimentary shuttle service runs between the properties twenty-four hours each day.

Here’s a tip: If you would like to visit the casino, but have little ones with you, KidsQuest at Soaring Eagle Casino and Resort is a licensed and bonded care provider that will watch over your children while you play. The staff is wonderful, the kids have a great time, and mom and dad needn’t worry about a thing.
